This software package is a LabVIEW Vi's library (llb file) for developing applications that permits to control, and acquire images from DV camcorders under LabVIEW & IMAQ Vision environments.
These Vi's permits to programmatically:
  • Transfer images from a camcorder, into an IMAQ image or a LabVIEW 2D array.
  • Control a camcorder mode (play, pause, rewind, forward, record, seek, etc...).
  • Get the SMPTE timecodes of the acquired images.
  • Display a camcorder video stream into a floating window.
  • Save a camcorder video stream into an AVI file without losing data (up to 30 frames/second).
Hardware Requirements   Software Requirements
To use the DV camcorder LabVIEW Library, your computer must meet the following hardware requirements:
- Personal computer using at least a Pentium II or higher microprocessor.
- IEEE-1394 OHCI compatible board.
- IEEE-1394 6 pins to 4 pins cable.
- DV Camcorder with DV,iLink, Firewire output.
To use the DV camcorder LabVIEW Library, your computer must meet the following software requirements:
- Microsoft  Windows  2000, XP operating systems.
- National Instruments LabVIEW version 6.x, 7.x.
- National Instruments IMAQ Vision version 6.x, 7.x
- Runtime Microsoft DirectX version 9.
 
The IMAQ Vision library is recommended but not needed. If you do not have the full IMAQ Vision library, you will need at least to install the IMAQ Vision basic Vi's.
The IMAQ Vision basic vi's are offered within "NI-IMAQ" software. NI-IMAQ is the driver that comes with National Instruments image acquisition boards and is used to acquire images. You can freely download the latest version of this driver on the National Instrument website (ftp://ftp.ni.com/support/imaq/pc/ni-imaq/).
